Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is powder coating?
Powder
coating is the process of electrostatically applying an
organic coating, in dry powder form to clean bare metal.
Once electrostatically applied, the powdered
component is placed in a cure oven where the powder
enters a gel/liquid state and bonds to the surface of
the component. The
result is a uniform, durable, high quality, and
attractive finish.
2) Why powder coat my golf equipment?
Powder coated surfaces are more resistant to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing than other finishes. Color selection is virtually unlimited with high and low glosses, metallics, and clear finishes that stay bright and vibrant longer than paint. Powder coating looks like paint, but acts like armor. It’s tough, looks great, and lasts a long, long time.
3) Is powder coating really better than liquid paint?
Powder coating is applied thicker than liquid paint and powder coated surfaces are more resistant to chipping, scratching, fading, and wearing than liquid paint.
4) Are custom colors available?
Virtually any color, texture, and gloss level can be custom matched. However, this can be an expensive process, but we do our best to closely match the color you desire.
5) Can you also coat my item with a clear powder coating to add depth and protection?
Yes, for an additional charge of $15.00 we will apply a clear powder coating topcoat.
6) What type of logos and designs can be added to my piece?
Any design or logo can be done and is only limited by your imagination. This service is priced on an individual design basis depending on the time involved.
